About Me

A bit more about me both professionally and personally…

I help executives and professionals with a variety of business problems and opportunities. In particular, I work with executives and IT professionals to simplify, overhaul, and develop more effective strategies (and management and investment approaches) for their information technology assets.

I have a background as an executive, business owner, and consultant as well as in IT strategy, management, and engineering.

I author and publish various newsletters, articles, blog posts, and reports primarily about IT management, but also business growth, professional success, etc. These resources highlight overlooked strategies and perspectives, tackle challenging problems, and point out new opportunities that improve the lives of my clients and readers through their businesses and careers.

I consult, coach, mentor, and serve as a filter and connector for my clients, subscribers, members, and the communities I participate in. I am an avid reader, researcher, and ponderer. I enjoy improving people’s lives by introducing them to good ideas and reminding them about what’s important.

My consulting clients include Level Studios (Web Associates), On-Demand Publishing (CreateSpace, an Amazon company), Digital West Networks,  SESLOC Federal Credit Union, Taylor & Syfan Consulting Engineers, Dioptics Medical Products, Central Coast Processing, Cannon Associates, Call America, Omega Math, Auspient, and others.

I am co-founder and most recently (former) CTO of Digital West Networks. Previously I was the Director of Network Operations for The FIX Network (which became part of Impulse Advanced Communications).  I’ve also worked for Lucent Technologies and other organizations, in addition to serving as an independent consultant for 15 years.

I’m a soccer fan, foster dad, coffee drinker (and sometimes roaster), wanna-be chef, and husband.
